Prime Minister Nabbanja Commissions Health Facility Upgrades Ahead of AFCON 2027

HOIMA, UGANDA – Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja has commissioned upgrade works for key health facilities in Hoima and Masindi districts as Uganda intensifies preparations to host the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 tournament.

The facilities include Hoima Regional Referral Hospital, Masindi General Hospital, and Buseruka Health Centre III in Hoima, which will be upgraded to a Health Centre IV. Hoima Regional Referral Hospital and Masindi General Hospital will undergo major infrastructural upgrades.

The Prime Minister Nabbanja also visited Hoima City Stadium, where some of the AFCON matches will be played.
The Prime Minister encouraged the residents of Hoima and Masindi to take advantage of the opportunities created by AFCON, explaining that the tournament will attract a large number of visitors to the two districts and beyond.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by State Minister(s) Grace Mary Mugasa for Bunyoro Affairs, Peter Ogwang for Sports, and Dr. Charles Ayume for Health in charge of Primary Health Care, with other dignitaries
