In plenary findings by the committee members they have established that the District officials don’t know the exact acres of land they owned by the district.

2024/5 Auditor general report indicated that all luwero District both assets and non assets were valued at 40bn and 19 bn respectively, this according to government this was undervaluatuon.

Betty Nambooze bakireke the chairperson of pac local government says its a Deliberate move between politicians and technical officials at the district to undervalue the assets.

“By the way its not luweero only having this challenge of undervaluatuon, even other Districts we have visited the code is the same of undervaluatuon she said.

The real acres of land is not established in the district report and theps were furious about how they reached at this valuation.

The committe found out that Bukalasa agricultural college buildings including land is valued at 35 million shillings, Bamunaanika technical institute Mulajje is valued at 24millions and bukolwa health Centre 3 valued at 5million shillings.

This according to members of the committee is because the District doesn’t have a District surveyor and valuer.

The District officials dispose off government assets like without following the proper government valuer.

“Am so disappointed with some district officials that when govt is buying land from individuals its seemed to be expensive but when selling to some one it tend s to be cheaper she said.

She proposes that government comes up with new regulations that will be guiding on the buying and selling of government assets

A case in a point is that two motor vehicles double cabin which the mps also inspected ar on disposal for selling at 4.5million each and one motorcycle at 125000 shillings only.

The acting chief financial officer Godfrey Walakira and the chief Acconting officer failed to give convincing answers to the raised queries.

Members of the committe also raised a concern of building a pit latrine a tune of 4million shillings .
