JOINT INTELLIGENCE-LED OPERATIONS LEAD TO THE ARREST OF 315 SUSPECTS.

The Kampala metropolitan Police working jointly with other security agencies continues to intensify intelligence-led operations aimed at preventing and combating crime across the Kampala Metropolitan area.
On 1st June 2026, a joint intelligence-led operation was conducted in identified crime hotspots within Katwe, Nateete, Kajjansi, and CPS Kampala Divisions. The operation, involving officers from CPS Kampala, Kajjansi, Kabalagala, and Nateete Divisions, was conducted between 9:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.

A total of 280 suspects were arrested during the operation. The suspects were apprehended from areas identified through intelligence as crime-prone and are currently undergoing screening. Those found to have committed offences will be charged accordingly.
several exhibits were recovered including suspected narcotic drugs, shisha pots, dangerous weapons, and television sets suspected to be linked to criminal activity for further investigation.
In a similar operation, officers from Nansana Police Division conducted an intelligence-led operation in the areas of Katooke, Nabweru, Kyebando, and Yesu Amala, leading to the arrest of 35 suspects, who are also undergoing screening.

In total, 315 suspects were arrested during the operations.
The Uganda Police Force remains committed to sustained intelligence-led operations to deter criminal activity, disrupt criminal networks, and enhance the safety and security of all residents.
