China Backs Pakistan’s Role in Facilitating US-Iran Talks

China has expressed full support for Pakistan’s efforts to facilitate dialogue between the United States and Iran, signaling Beijing’s interest in promoting regional stability through diplomatic engagement.
The message was conveyed by China’s ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, during a meeting with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, according to Pakistan’s foreign ministry.
The two officials discussed recent regional developments, with a focus on ongoing diplomatic efforts involving Washington and Tehran.
During the meeting, Zaidong commended Pakistan’s role in encouraging dialogue between the two countries. He expressed “appreciation of Pakistan’s continued efforts to facilitate engagement” between the United States and Iran, describing such initiatives as important for “sustained peace and stability in the region and beyond.”
Pakistan has in recent years positioned itself as a potential mediator in international conflicts, particularly within the broader Middle East region.
While no specific details were provided about the progress of the talks, the endorsement from Beijing underscores China’s support for diplomatic solutions to geopolitical tensions.
