Government Sets Dates for National Performance Review Conference

The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has announced that Uganda will hold a National Performance Review Conference from April 15 to 17 at Speke Resort in Munyonyo, Kampala.
According to Dr. Albert Byamugisha, head of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Secretariat, the conference will evaluate the country’s progress toward its socio-economic transformation goals. He made the remarks during an appearance on UBC Television’s Good Morning Uganda Extra.
President Yoweri Museveni is expected to officiate as the chief guest at the opening of the three-day event.
Dr. Byamugisha described the conference as an important platform for improving coordination and accountability in implementing Uganda’s development agenda. He also encouraged the public to participate, noting that the discussions will be accessible both physically and online.
The meeting will bring together stakeholders from government, development partners, academia, and civil society to review national progress.
Mr. Mayanja Gonzaga, Commissioner for Monitoring and Evaluation at OPM, said the discussions will focus on key priorities such as increasing household incomes, creating jobs, and advancing the monetisation of the economy.
He added that the conference will also assess how government programmes under ministries, departments, agencies, and local governments are contributing to the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV).
In addition, participants will review how public funds allocated in the current financial year have been used and their impact on national development.
