Life Restoration Ministries Opens New Sanctuary as Museveni Calls for Wealth Creation

The official opening and dedication of the Life Restoration Ministries sanctuary at Nansana–Bujjuko was marked with calls for Christians to balance spiritual growth with economic empowerment.

In a speech delivered on his behalf by the Minister of State for Economic Monitoring, Hon. Beatrice Akello Akori, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni recognised the role of the Church in Uganda’s socio-economic transformation, noting that beyond spiritual guidance, it contributes to community development.

“While the most obvious task of the Church is the spiritual well-being of the people, it has also participated in carrying out developmental projects focused on enhancing the well-being of communities,” the President said.

He urged religious leaders to encourage believers to engage in income-generating activities, emphasizing that faith should go hand in hand with work.

“All believers should take the example of Jesus Christ, who besides teaching, praying and fasting, was also a carpenter,” he noted.

The President highlighted commercial agriculture, industrialisation, services, and ICT as key sectors for wealth creation and called on leaders to mobilise communities to join the money economy.

The event marked a significant milestone for Life Restoration Ministries in expanding its place of worship. President Museveni commended Pastor Kenneth Kato Mwesigwa for spearheading the construction of the sanctuary and contributed Shs30 million towards the project.

Pastor Robert Kayanja thanked the President for promoting peace and unity in Uganda, while Pastor Mwesigwa expressed gratitude for government support and reaffirmed the church’s commitment to community outreach, youth empowerment, and charitable work.

The ceremony featured prayers, gospel music performances, and messages from various religious leaders.
