GCW Jane Ruth Aceng Calls for Teamwork, Professionalism Among Parliament Staff

The Government Chief Whip, Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Acero, has called for teamwork, integrity, and professionalism among staff serving in the Office of the Leader of Government Business in Parliament.

Dr. Aceng made the remarks on Thursday afternoon while meeting staff of the department at Parliament following her assumption of office as Government Chief Whip.

Expressing her enthusiasm about working with the team, Dr. Aceng emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in the execution of their duties.

“I am happy to work as Government Chief Whip. I like a team that is prayerful, with a high level of integrity, hardworking and honest,” Dr. Aceng said.

The Director of the Department, Mr. Kiiza Charles Lwanga, welcomed Hon. Dr. Ruth Aceng to Parliament and pledged the staff’s full commitment and cooperation as she undertakes her new responsibilities.

The Government Chief Whip serves as the political engine of the ruling party in Parliament. The office plays a critical role in coordinating government business, assisting the Prime Minister in advancing the legislative agenda, enforcing party discipline, and leading the ruling party’s parliamentary caucus.

Dr. Ruth Aceng’s meeting with staff marked an important step in fostering collaboration and strengthening the working relationship between the leadership and technical teams responsible for managing government business in Parliament.
