UFL Semifinal: St Lawrence Host UMU At Kavule

University football league returns on Wednesday at Kavule playground as St Lawrence University hosts 2017 defending champion Uganda Martyrs University in first first leg of first Semifinal of 2019 edition.

Captains from both clubs in question vowed to display a nice game but with ambitious target to storm Final.

“We will embarked on experienced players we have, we have ever been at this stage before and we know what we need to do.

We respect St Lawrence being the fact that they are at home but we don’t fear them, we going to put up a nice show but with the target of going back to final.” Mutaawe Athanas UMU skipper said while addressing media at Kati Kati Restaurant Lugogo in a prematch press briefing on Tuesday.

Kasule ‘Owen’ Ibrahim, captain at St Lawrence in the same sentiment void to base on their home advantage with huge support from students and weakness of their opponents, they will overcome the tie and reach final for the first time in history.



“Most of the players in UMU we have ever played against them especially in Masaza, we know their weaknesses and we shall embark on that to win the game at home.

This time we target to reach on final” Kasule ‘Owen’Ibrahim said.

This will be the first Semifinal and the second Semifinal shall be played on Friday as UCU hosting Bugema University at Mukono.

The final is at Namboole on 10th November 2019
