NCS To Inject Shs 500M In Bombers Preparations For Olympic Qualifiers In Dakar.
The wrangles and tag of war between the National sports governing body (NCS) and current boxing federation (UBF) seems to have come to a temporary rest when the government via Council promised to give a hand to the federation as bombers enter residential camp for Tokyo 2020 Olympics Qualifiers.
The National boxing team, the Bombers was meant to hit residential camp a week back as preparing for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Qualifier tournament to be held in Senegal in mid February but financial constraints delayed them.
Smile onto the Uganda boxing federation and Bombers as National Council of Sports heard their cry and promised to help them (Bombers) with 500 uganda million shillings and the team is set to enter residential training camp at Luzira Prisons on Wednesday 22nd January 2020.
The team of 26 boxers, will be handled by eight coaches, and the camp that will take over 25 days, will start on Wednesday 22nd January upto 16th February before the team fly to Dakar Senegal on 17th February 2020.
Uganda to be represented by 13 boxers in Dakar and the winners will represent Uganda in Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
