MOGO Uganda Partners with Airtel to Launch Affordable Smartphone Financing Progra

Kampala, Uganda – In a move set to increase digital inclusion across Uganda, top asset financing company MOGO Uganda has partnered with Airtel Uganda to roll out an innovative smartphone loan program. This initiative is designed to make smartphones more affordable and accessible, particularly for low-income earners across the country.

The program targets popular brands such as Tecno, Infinix, and itel, offering flexible and affordable payment plans. Customers can secure a smartphone with an initial deposit as low as 28%, and repayments start from just UGX 848 per day. Payment terms can be stretched over daily, weekly, or monthly installments for up to 52 weeks, giving customers control based on their income flow.

Aiming to bridge the digital divide, the partnership between MOGO and Airtel addresses the urgent need for accessible smart devices to support education, business, and social connectivity. With just a national ID and a mobile-money-registered SIM card, customers can apply without the need for collateral or income verification. Applications are quick and convenient, with approvals often completed in under 15 minutes.

To sweeten the deal, Airtel Uganda is offering customers 3GB of free data every month for three months upon purchasing a smartphone through this scheme—an added value that allows users to start exploring digital services immediately.

This strategic partnership is expected to empower thousands of Ugandans to participate more fully in the digital economy by providing them with the tools they need to connect, learn, and grow.
