He Owns Me, I Inherit Him

THE DIVINE EXCHANGE

When All That You Have Belongs to God, and All That God Has Belongs to You

One of the most profound truths in the Christian faith is the reality of divine ownership and covenant partnership. Many believers know God as Savior but struggle to understand Him as Owner and Provider. The statement, “All that you have belongs to God, and all that God has belongs to you,” is not just poetic—it is a covenantal truth that transforms how we live, pray, give, and trust.

This principle is rooted in Scripture, emphasizing stewardship, faith, authority, and inheritance. When understood and applied, it moves a believer from fear and limitation into peace, abundance, and covenant living.

God Is the Owner of Everything

The Bible makes it clear:

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” — Psalm 24:1

Everything—your life, talents, possessions, and opportunities—already belongs to God. He does not need your permission to claim ownership; He simply asks you to acknowledge it.

Many resist surrender because they think God is taking something away. In truth, God is asking us to recognize what is already His. Accepting His ownership brings freedom: pride, fear, and greed lose power, while trust and peace grow.

Stewardship: Managing What Belongs to God

When we acknowledge God’s ownership, we understand our role as stewards, not owners. A steward manages what belongs to another and will give an account for it.

“Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.” — 1 Corinthians 4:2

Believers often struggle when they think they own what they have. Fear, anxiety, and selfishness arise. But when we see ourselves as stewards, giving becomes worship, obedience becomes natural, and provision becomes God’s responsibility.

Covenant: The Legal Foundation of Faith

The statement that all God has belongs to us is rooted in covenant reality. A covenant is a binding relationship where:

  • What is mine becomes yours

  • What is yours becomes mine

Jesus established this covenant when He said:

“All that belongs to the Father is mine.” — John 16:15

Through Christ, God takes our weakness, sin, and poverty, and gives us His strength, righteousness, and abundance. This is not theory—it is spiritual reality.

All That You Have Belongs to God

Your Life

“You are not your own; you were bought at a price.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

Your life is purposeful. Your future is intentional. Your calling is designed. Surrendering your life to God brings peace and direction, even in times of difficulty.

Your Resources

Your income, possessions, and opportunities are trusts from God. Honoring Him with these resources unlocks increase and protection.

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty.” — Proverbs 3:9–10

Your Gifts and Abilities

“What do you have that you did not receive?” — 1 Corinthians 4:7

Your talents are gifts, not self-made achievements. When surrendered to God, they bring eternal impact.

All That God Has Belongs to You

Provision

“My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19

God’s provision is not limited by your salary, location, or circumstances. It exists and is accessible because it belongs to Him.

Power

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” — Acts 1:8

God equips believers to heal, restore, and triumph over obstacles. This power is available because it is His—and He shares it with us.

Authority

“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy.” — Luke 10:19

Believers inherit authority over fear, circumstances, and spiritual battles—not by effort, but because of whose they are.

Faith: Trusting God’s Ownership

Faith grows when we accept God’s ownership. It says:

  • “God is responsible for what belongs to Him.”

  • “God sustains what He has entrusted to me.”

  • “God cannot fail.”

Giving and obedience become joyful when we trust that God is the source and sustainer.

“Give, and it shall be given to you… for with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” — Luke 6:38

Living From Heaven’s Resources Daily

This truth must become practical and everyday. Knowing God owns everything and that His resources are yours changes:

  • How you pray—prayer becomes partnership, not pleading.

  • How you give—giving becomes worship, not loss.

  • How you face loss—loss is temporary; God restores and redeems.

“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” — Job 1:21

Living from this reality brings freedom, peace, and purpose. Every day becomes an opportunity to partner with God in His Kingdom.

Conclusion: A Life Fully Surrendered, Fully Supplied

The ultimate truth of the Christian life is this:

  • All that you have belongs to God.

  • All that God has belongs to you.

This is the Divine Exchange. When you surrender your life, resources, gifts, and future to God, He gives you Himself in return. He provides, empowers, protects, and grants authority.

Christianity is not about loss—it is about inheritance. Nothing you surrender is truly lost, and everything God offers is already yours. Step into this reality, live as a faithful steward, and walk boldly in the fullness of God’s provision, power, and covenant blessings.
