Uganda Cranes draw Rwanda, Kenya in World Cup qualifiers

Uganda has been drawn in what looks like a fair group in the upcoming World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

The Cranes who were in pot two of the draws have been drawn in group E of the first round of qualifiers.

They will have to face off with Mali and two East African neighbours in Kenya and Rwanda.

The matches will be played from 23 March 2020 to 12 October 2021.

From the 10 groups, they winners of each (group) will face off in a home and away tie to determine who reaches the World Cup in Qatar.

Africa has five spots at the World cup and they will be known following the knock-out qualification stage in November.

  • Group A: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Niger and Djibouti
  • Group B: Tunisia, Zambia, Mauritania and Equatorial Guinea
  • Group C: Nigeria, Cape Verde, Central African Republic and Liberia
  • Group D: Cameroun, Ivory Coast, Mozambique and Malawi
  • Group E: Mali, Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda
  • Group F: Egypt, Gabon, Libya and Angola
  • Group G: Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia
  • Group H: Senegal, Congo, Namibia and Togo
  • Group I: Morocco, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Sudan
  • Group J: DR Congo, Benin, Madagascar and Tanzania.
